Good day to you. It has been a world wind trip over the last two months that started in New Hampshire, then on to Italy for two weeks and a return to the states to Las Vegas and the final leg, Houston, Texas. The trip has offered as many sites to see and photograph as there were time zones. I must say that I am so looking forward to a few days in my own bed.
Vegas is always a fun trip that offers a stellar photographic workshop. The days are hot and the nights are long. More for the young then the young at heart, the Vegas strip is like a bug beckoning the masses to the call of the wild. The strip is simply mesmerizing.
One of the things that I enjoy most about the annual October Vegas trip is the opportunity to get out of the city and take advantage of some of the beautiful dessert scenery. We head to places like the Primn Dry Lake Bed, Redstone in the National Park and to Nelson which is a man made ghost town with antique relics that make for a photographers paradise.
On one of the days prior to the workshop we grabbed a couple of models and headed out one of my other favorite spots – Red Rock which is another National park just outside the city. It offers spectacular vistas and is never a disappointment.
With one extra-day for road trips we took an inner city journey to one of the most unique architecturally designed buildings I believe I have seen in a quite sometime. Designed by Architect Frank Gehry, the building is home to a medical clinic. It is a visually complex structure that looks like it once had an elephant sit on it. The building made for a most interesting backdrop to photograph the models we were escorting. Our biggest challenge was keeping a low profile from the security. Mission Accomplished and another great trip to the city that never sleeps. So keep it quiet because what goes on in Vegas stays in Vegas. Well unless it is photographed and blogged!!!!
