Ho Ho Ho – Here comes Santa Claus, Hear Comes Santa Claus!! 14 shopping days until Good Ole Jolly Saint Nick arrives. I hope you all have been very very good or somewhat “naughty and nice.”
Every holiday season for the past 6 years Big Spring Park in Huntsville, AL. transforms itself into spectacular display of Christmas jubilation with hundreds of decorated Christmas Trees. The display has taken up permanent residence in Big Spring Park east. Each year for the past six years I have made my way down to enjoy the display and capture one of the many holiday traditions our city has to offer.
For the Last two years we have been very fortunate to have a full moon rise during this time period and on the day that I picked I was fortunate enough to not only be treated to a spectacular sunset setting in the west but also a almost full moon rising in the east over the city. It is truly an amazing site rising over the city and when there is a little cloud coverage the moon tends to play a little hide and seek as it passes in and out.
As the Christmas lights began to twinkle and the city once again began to spring to life with the spirit of the holiday season the “little kid” in me realized that Santa could not be far behind. As a photographer it is one of my favorite times of the year to capture the city and be thankful for all the city has to offer.
Christmas is a time of year that we should take a moment to give thanks for all that we are truly grateful for. I think there is no greater gift then the time we share and the memories we create with family and friends. I will be doing so as I will make my yearly trip to the Arizona to spend time with my sister and her family and then proceed west to San Diego to celebrate with some dear friends. Happy Holidays!
