Good morning to you all and hello from somewhere in Florida. I am slowly making my way home and yesterday was a long travel day. My apologies for not getting the Monday morning blog out to you on Monday morning, especially for those that use it as a reminder that it is in fact, Monday morning!
While heading south on 1-275 to Venice last week to spend a few days with a dear friend, James Hagler I timed my trip to be near the Sunshine Skyway Bridge around sunset. The bridge in itself is an amazing structure to photograph and I was hoping that I would be there to capture that one moment that would say it all. What I encountered was a spectacular site of Kite Boarders surfing against the backdrop of the bridge. It instantly brought back fond memories of my first encounters with Kite Boarders catching big wind in the Outer Banks of North Carolina.
I spent as much time as I could, trying not to feel guilty that I had a group of friends waiting for me at their favorite watering hole. I knew that I still had a sunset in the works. I packed by gear and headed south over the bridge to take up a second shooting location on its west side. As luck would have it, Mother Nature did not disappoint. What I found most interesting that day was the cloud formations and the cloud that took shape like a North American map. Once the sun set on the horizon I headed south, finally arriving and apologizing profusely for my tardiness due to the “traffic jam” on the bridge.
ENJOY!!!!
