A very happy Monday morning to you. It is just another day in the neighborhood with temperatures well above the comfort zone for daytime activity. Even the nights can be brutal! Luckily for me it was another week of mostly indoor activities and shoots.

This past weekend I had the pleasure of going out to the U.S. Space and Rocket Center for their first 2015 concert in the park. The concert was held next the Space Shuttle display and was part of their Space Camp Alumni Festival being held at the center. This year they were celebrating the 25th Anniversary of Aviation Challenge and 33 years of Space Camp history.

What an exceptional setting the Space Shuttle display would be for any type of event and to see a concert there, even more so! Attendees were in for a treat. With a half moon watching over, a theatrically lit Shuttle and music, food and drinks to dine on under the stars it was to be a magical evening. What more could a summer evening in Space City USA offer?

I was extremely excited to go for two reasons. I felt that it was going to be an exceptional photographic opportunity, but more importantly, I was going to hear my good friend and exceptional musician, Ms. Amy McCarley. Amy had been selected as the opening act for the evening. It is always fabulous to see her live and she put on her usual stellar show!!!! If you have not heard this hometown girl, you definitely need to check her out!!! I may be just a little biased but I think she may have just stolen the evening!!! (www.amymccarley.com)

To say the least I left the venue, totally stoked to have shot the first concert under the lit Shuttle and to have had the opportunity to hear Amy hot off her most recent appearance at the Handy Festival. The evening and music were hot but the Straight to Ale beer was cold so it made for a fabulous balance and a great evening!!!
