A very happy Monday morning to you. It appears that spring has sprung. The weather for the weekend was absolutely perfect.
While returning home from a recent trip, I was passing by the Huntsville airport and spotted a huge field of yellow flowers off of I-565. The blanket of yellow was absolutely breathtaking. I was drawn to the field like a bug to a bug light and had to pull off to survey the landscape. I took a few photographs but knew I would have to come back when time permitted for a more extensive photographic undertaking. When asking around about the field I was informed that it was Canola.
Given the fact that we all tend to be drawn to the color yellow I decided to look the word up on the internet and here are a few interesting facts I came away with. “Yellow is the most luminous of all the colors of the spectrum. It’s the color that captures our attention more than any other color. It’s the color of happiness, and optimism, of enlightenment and creativity, sunshine and spring. In almost every culture yellow represents sunshine, happiness, and warmth.”
So with an enlighten understanding of the color yellow I decided to head back to the Canola field and attempt to capture the essence of what I was smitten by on my first journey. It was the color yellow as far as the eye could see.
The best part of the journey was taking Elizabeth Snow, a model that was visiting me from Phoenix, AZ. to the fields. We had discussed some potential shoot ideas prior to her arrival and she indicated she had the perfect outfit. As it turned out, the dress was more than perfect and her talent and beauty surpassed anything I could have imagined. Beauty that complimented beauty, she was the perfect fit for the field of yellow. It was a magical shoot on a magical day. ENJOY!!!!!
