It is only four days until Good Ole Jolly Saint Nick arrives. I hope you all have been very very good or as the case may be – somewhat naughty. It is hard to believe we are just a few days away from the New Year as well. Where did 2015 go?

There is no more formidable tradition during the Christmas season then decorating the Christmas tree. So what would it be like to decorate hundreds of Christmas trees? That’s exactly what happens every year in downtown Huntsville in Big Spring Park during the holiday season. Individuals and corporations come together and decorate a tree that is then placed around Big Spring Park. The reflective nature of the trees only adds to the beauty of the park and provides for a very family festive evening. To get into the spirit of the holiday, get there just as the sun is setting and watch as the magic beings to appear.

For the past few years, I have had the opportunity and pleasure to showcase one of Santa’s helpers in my Christmas blog! This year I have the distinct pleasure of showcasing aone of Stanta’s favorite helpers, Ms. Gwendolyn Sweet. I am hoping that with Gwendolyn’s help, Stanta will deliver the goods and bring home the National Championship for the TIDE !!!!! Many thanks to Stan Miller, the real deal “STANTA”!

Christmas is a time of year that we should take a moment to give thanks for all that we are truly grateful for. I think there is no greater gift than the time we share and the memories we create with family and friends. When unwrapped, those memories are the true gifts of Christmas!

This will be my first Christmas where I no longer have either of my parents living. Like most anyone that has lost a loved one, it can make for an emotional time during what is meant to be a joyous celebration. As for myself, I will relish in the fond memories of previous family Christmas celebrations and know that in spirit my parents are here with me on this wonderful day. To each and everyone that shares in the loss of a loved one I wish you well and hope you also will find happiness in remembering the good times and the love you shared.

To Bob and Lucy Keim – Merry Christmas!!!!!!!
