Good morning to you all and greetings from the Florida Gulf Coast where I am at the beginning of a two-week road trip!
The first of November you can always find me in Treasure Island, Florida instructing at the last photographic workshop for the year. It is always great to come home and being in Florida this time a year is not a bad thing. I have a few traditions while in the area that include eating my fair share of Cuban cuisine and fresh seafood. Another great aspect to my coming home is I take a little extra time to catch up with high school and college classmates. We end up talking about our school day escapades, which are affectionately referred to as the “good ole days!
Prior to heading to Treasure Island, I had decided to break up my travel by stopping in to visit a good friend in Perdido Key. While there I was able to get out to the beach and capture a rare winter sunset, setting on the gulf side of the coast. During the summer months the sun sets further south and I generally capture it on the sound side or in the pass of Perdido Key. When you have cloud coverage like the day I was out shooting you never quite know what you are going to see or capture or much less if you are going to see the sun at all. Luckily I waited it out, never seeing the sun actually set and was treated to this majestic canvas of pastel colors painted by Mother Nature. I hope you enjoy!!!!
