A very good Monday morning to you all. As most of you may have noticed, fall has arrived in a big way with Mother Natures’ artic blast sneaking into the south over the weekend. I think it may just be time to dust off those warm clothes that are hidden in the back of the closet.
It has been a very busy week for me with local shoots and preparing for another extended road trip, this time to Florida. The Florida trip is a repeat trip from last year and one that I thoroughly enjoy. It is a yearly trip where I get to drive down and along the way mix business with some pleasure. The trip is an opportunity for me to spend some quality time with old school mates and friends in the area. Coming off last month’s extended trip, this tour will be a breeze.
Fortunately for me, last week was not all work and I was able to spend sometime in and around the area looking to capture fall colors. I was so excited when I got home from my trip out west and realized the color parade was late this year. As I traveled around to two of my favorite locations it became apparent that, even with the cold snap, the colors were just not there. It is not apparent whether we are going to see the brilliants shades of color we normally get. On my two excursions last week there were hints of the beautiful reds, oranges and yellows but nothing in mass.
As I headed home, disappointed in not seeing the colors, I opted to stop by one of my favorite overlooks of the Tennessee River just outside of Scottsboro and take in the evenings setting sun. As much as I was disappointed about not getting to capture the fall colors I could not help but think, “Not a bad day in Alabama!” Enjoy!!!
