Hello from sunny Florida! It appears that my trip south was time perfectly to avoid the first arctic blast of the season. I will attempt to send warm thoughts to all of you.

This week I find myself visiting friends in Venice Fl. where the city just happens to be hosting the largest 3-D street Chalk Festival. The Chalk Festival which has been in Sarasota FL since 2010 moved to Venice this year and it appears that it once again is a huge hit. The Sarasota Chalk Festival is the world’s biggest community festival for Street Painters, hosting the world-renowned artists each year. The chalk artists create their 2-D and 3-D art on the streets of the city.

The most incredible piece of chalk art was created by a collective group of artists in an attempt to break the Guinness Book of World Records. Collectively, the artists created the Largest Anamorphic Pavement Art in the World, a 42′ x 450′ pavement painting, an 18,900 square foot illusion featuring the extinct Megalodon Shark. The art was selected to honor Venice as the Shark Tooth Capital of the World and is so large that they had to use an airport runway. Two of my friends decided to venture in to the maze to provide a little perspective. To say the least all of the paintings were mind teasers. ENJOY!
