Happy 2014 and here’s to another wonderful week in the neighborhood!

I had to make a journey up to Nashville over the weekend to pick up a dear friend at the airport. The weather was so beautiful that I decided to head up a little early to do some photographic exploring downtown prior to her arrival. One of the many places I find so fascinating and so extremely out of place is the replica of the Athena Parthenon in the Centennial Park. The structure is a full-scale replica of the original Parthenon and was built in 1897 as part of the Tennessee Centennial Exposition. If you have never seen the building, it is truly a sight to behold and one, given its location, boggles the mind.

With a little time to spare after trekking around Centennial Park I headed off to one of my very favorite spots to view the Nashville Cityscape. I have found myself there more than a few times documenting the city. The spot is directly across the river next to LP Field where the Tennessee Titans (very fitting after just viewing the Parthenon) play football. With the AT&T tower rising skyward it is a view that never disappoints!! It is affectionately called the Gotham City Batman tower!

Holy Cow Batman ……… ENJOY!!!!
