Oriental Delight

Monday, February 23rd, 2009

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend and now you are looking forward the week ahead. I actually spent my first full week back in Huntsville dealing with a stack of never ending mail, contacting clients and attending a couple of meetings for the Huntsville Land Trust (http://www.landtrust-hsv.org/) which I am on the Board of Directors. If you are not a member and live in the area, you should join. It is a very valuable and worthwhile non-profit.

Anyone that knows me, knows of my love for Sushi and it would come as no surprise to most that sooner or later, I would have to try and capture the beauty of the oriental delicacy. And so it goes, last year I had the opportunity to spend sometime with a sushi artist, Soyo Sushi, in North Carolina capturing some images to display on his web site. It was a night of intense photography and lots of sushi and saki.  What more can you ask for. Save a seat for me!!!!!

Space City, USA

Monday, February 16th, 2009
After a extended trip to Louisiana, New Jersey, North Carolina and Arizona I find myself back at home trying to catch up. It is amazing no matter where I travel or how long I am away, my bills always find there way to Huntsville to await my return.

You know they say, “There is no place like Home!” When my parents came up over the mountain for the first time in the late 70′s and saw the city lights they exclaimed, “it looks like christmas!” No matter where I travel and what I see, I still believe that Huntsville’s cityscape is one of the best. The Saturn Rocket stands tall and bright.
This is one of those stunning Huntsville cityscapes from the archives.

Wide Screen

Monday, February 9th, 2009
I trust that this newest post finds you all doing mavvvvvvvelous!!!!

I write you today from Phoenix, Az. A little warmer here than back east.

Wide Screen

At first glance …….. it was like viewing a massive wall of LCD plasma screens at Best Buy. Then I woke up …… I was riding an escalator at the NWA terminal at the Philadelphia airport.

It was such an impressive view that I took a couple of trips, up and down, to capture the image. Luckily no one from Home Land Security was watching.

Glory Days

Monday, February 2nd, 2009

If you are any kind of football fan, last nights Super Bowl was as good as it gets. The Steeler Nation pulling it out in the last few seconds of the game to win their 6th Super Bowl title.

Of course if you are a music fan, could it have been any better than the half time show with the BOSS – Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. Compared to years past, it was one to remember. And last but not least, does my home town – Tampa, Fl. know how to throw a PARTE’  or what !!!!!!

Glory Days

While I was in Newark, NJ. last week my good friend Dave Hickey came by and took me on a journey to Asbury Park on the Jersey Coast. For you musical trivia fans … it is where it all began for the Super Bowls half time MVP – Bruce Springsteen and where he spent many a night honing his craft .. the Stone Pony. It was a gloomy Jersey day but if you closed your eyes and listened…  you could almost hear the music… “Glory Days!”
